If Manila is a big bar of chocolate, I guess all the people will end up diabetic. 

But indeed, Manila is a chocolate. Every time I close my eyes I see the sweetest dreams, hopes, stories and memories in every Filipino, it serves as the haven of it. the richness of Filipino culture and a brand of chocolate that is timeless. Filipinos are all diabetic to it for people all over the world is always coming back to home in Manila.

We've been all to busy in our chocolatey life. We are here in Manila passing through and out in every corners of it. The city has lot of people with different tastes of chocolate in their own lives. It actually had been into a lot of controversies.  Yet, if we will pause, inhale and have time to take a bite Manila, we will know the different tastes of it.

SWEET CHOCOLATE: SM Mall of Asia

Laughters, smiles, kisses and embraces - these are what SM Mall of Asia composed of. It is the 4th largest shopping mall in the chocolatey world and always have been the sweetest taste in the Bay City, Pasay City, Philippines. This shopping mall has always been the perfect place to package the sweetest memories you always wanted to have with your love ones. People chose this shopping mall to scheduled their time for their family and also the box of chocolate of friends bonding and the heart shaped chocolates of every lovers. SM Mall of Asia served us everything the sweet life we always wanted. and when you once tasted it, you will always want to have more of it. The sweetest taste in Metro Manila.

DARK CHOCOLATE: Payatas Dumpsite

Would you mind to pick up the pieces of chocolate wrapper in the street you are in? I guess you won't dare to try and don't give any care, but some people will do. and if I'll give you a choice between a sweet and dark chocolate, what would you choose? i'm sure the sweet one, because a dark chocolate won't give you any sweetness. and if i'll tell you to eat that sweet chocolate in front of the Payatas Dumpsite, would you dare to eat one?

All our wastes are dumped into Payatas Dumpsite, also known as Smokey Mountain. Yes you're imagining it right, it is really a mountain of wastes. It was known for it's notorious tragedy in the year of 2000 where scavengers were buried under our own wastes. But now, it is also the source of living of living. Scavengers are making money in our wastes. Their living is the darkest chocolate. But did you know that eating dark chocolate is good for your health? Like people in Payatas, working under the sun and inhaling the scent just to find wealth. Like eating a dark chocolate, a bitter taste yet it is good for you.

MILK CHOCOLATE: Manila Zoo

If you're in years of decades and then you decided to have a step once again in the famous zoo in Manila, a nostalgic feeling will shower you. 

We all drank milk during our childhood years, and what's better for it? Of course, adding a chocolate. You won't call yourself a Manileno if you haven't met Mally, the 38 years old elephant in Manila. Most of us went to that zoo of ours during our childhood years and it's been the milk chocolate in Manila. We all awed and ran into excitement seeing all those animals. Screamed at the sight of the tigers, eyes widened at the snakes and even jump just to say hi to Mally. What's even better in Manila Zoo? We always feel like kids and it's always been a good feeling.

BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE: Tondo, Manila

If you are not residence of Tondo, and I asked you to describe it, what adjectives will you say?

Most people avoid walking in the streets in Tondo especially at night, because the possibilities of shooting you by gun with no apparent reason is high. Fights, curses and and crime cases are known in this city. But that's not the whole case. Actually, there are brighter sides in the face of Tondo. Where you can walk freely without looking at your back, greet people and they will greet you back happily, and even stroll freely at night. The Tondo community is doing their best to make the face of the city into a smile. Eating a bittersweet chocolate will make your lips and eyebrows to curl but if you'll explore the taste, you'll enjoy the sweetest side of it, just like Tondo.

NUTTY CHOCOLATE: Chocolate Factory, Cubao

Where is Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory? It's been always my dream to get there. Imagine swimming into a pool of chocolate, inhaling the scent if it and even laying down into a bed of chocolate. It's like... wow. Can you please take me there?

But I know a place, just like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. But Willy Wonka isn't there. yet even from afar and staring at the castle it has a spell that will call you to drift into that place. Yes, you're reading and seeing it right, it is a castle of chocolate (but of course not the exterior itself). In the city of Cubao there lies a haven of chocolate, one that is responsible into the production of chocolates. There are big bars of chocolates and even crave because upon entering, you smell the scent of it! It is a nutty chocolate in Metro Manila. Where a one of a kind place in Metro Manila and only fortunate can enter the gates of it. The demands of nutty chocolate are high, yet only few can buy. Only few can enter the Chocolate Factory.

SWEET MANILENOS

Being a Filipino is one of the things in my entire life that I can proud of. Aside from having a good physical appearance, having a good attitudes and attributes are the best things that can describe that you are a Filipino.
Hospitality is the best attitude that we can proud of. We have this kind of attitude that even if the other nation does, they cannot get the best recipe that helps to appreciate the real meaning of hospitality. And I can say that, Manilenos having this kind of attitude. Aside from being hospitality, they are kind too. They are really proud on what their City has. They still improved the things that they already have so that even in a right manner, our country can proud them off. 

They have the sweet kind of attitude that can describe like the sweetness of the chocolates that they have made. They are too caring on other people, they can appreciate simple things that happens in they’re City. And the simplicity of their beliefs and happiness in life are the one who really gives sweetness in their City.

Have you ever experienced to ride on a ferry boat along river Pasig or had been almost suffocated in the crowded PNR, MRT or LRT station and even in the speeding busses along EDSA? These are only some of the transportations that we can ride if we can visit any of the amenities or hot spots in Metro Manila.

In an almost three decades of studying in Manila, as a Broadcast Communication student I've been to many places in Manila and Divisoria is one of the hottest spots there, most especially if the thrifthiness is the game. You can buy things there without even estimating your budget. In terms of quality of the product, it's good and durable.

After roaming around, you can go to Intramuros and witness the historical places there. We can also see the beautiful and amazing sunset with your family or friends in Manila Bay or Baywalk.

Some of the most visited place in Metro Manila are the Ocean Park, Manila Zoo, Star City, SM Mall of Asia  and Luneta Park including the very controversial place now here in Metro Manila, the Quirino Grand Stand wherein 8 foreigners who are having a trip died because of the hostage taking. After that incident, there are still lot of foreigners who are still visiting Manila because Manila is always a place to be.
